César Jiménez
César Jiménez (Mexico City, 1972) is a visual artist and sculptor whose work stands as a bridge between an ancient past and modernity. With solid training under the guidance of Master Emilio Sánchez— a renowned Oaxacan artist— and with academic recognition from the prestigious School of San Carlos, Master Jiménez has consolidated a visual language in which matter and myth converge.
The master’s practice is characterized by profound material experimentation that includes oil painting, printmaking, and a distinguished body of work in both low- and high-temperature ceramics. His pieces, often described as “objects rescued by time,” possess textures that evoke stone reliefs, modern cave paintings, and archaeological artifacts unearthed from forgotten civilizations.
