About the Event
At the heart of UNBOUND is the three-dimensional art book: sculptural, tactile, and resolutely un-flat. These are not passive documents or catalogs. They are works of art—vessels, reliquaries, landscapes of thought—made to be held, opened, unfolded, entered. Crafted from unexpected materials like metal, cloth, wood, resin, or glass, some carry drawings and handwritten fragments, others embed sound or projection. Some are singular; others exist in small, editioned echoes. Each asks: What is a book, when it's no longer bound to the page? What is a voice, when it takes up space?
Alongside these sculptural books are paintings, installations, and performances that continue the gesture: to unbind narrative from linearity, form from hierarchy, voice from silence. The artists in this exhibition span genders and generations. They work across disciplines, yet are united by a commitment to honoring female perspectives—and to building new forms of relation, care, and resistance.
